Having a problem with Thunderbird email client.?
I can receive email ok but this is the error I get when trying to send email:
An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: 5.7.0 Must issue a STARTTLS command first h34sm7265665wxd. Please verifey that your email address is correct in your Mail preferences and try again.
for this(h34sm7265665wxd) I have gotten (h36sm7219113wxd) and (i13sm3877354) (h37sm7236936)
I am using:
Thunderbird 1.5.0.12
AVG 7.5.4.76 updated 07-04-2007
on a windows xp home service pack 2 machine.
Using gmail and valornet.com mail
Got the sending part fixed but now I can’t receive any email.
Have gone into settings and found something that was wrong now I’m able to send mail but I can’t receive. Already tried the isp and if they dont supply it they will not support it.
Go to their website, or maybe ask your internet provider an email question…they are very familiar with trouble shooting email problems.
Go back through your configurations and make sure you’ve indicated the pop3 in the correct box, and smtp is correct , again your internet provider can walk you through it.
